What can I give to the King?

This was the text of my original message last April 21st, when I was asked to give short message during worship through giving or known as “Tithes and Offering”.

Verse:

Proverbs 23:26 NLT

O my son, give me your heart. May your eyes take delight in following my ways.

Lord thank you for your word.

Yes we are in our worship through giving, but let me ask you this..

What is that one thing that God is asking you to give tonight?

Is it the money that you will give to church or your best effort in the ministry you are right now, is it your diligence in coming here before 5PM, is it your way of raising your hand and giving your best shout?

Well, pause for a moment, God is only asking You to surrender.. your broken, your tired and your worn-out heart.

He wants you personally, BUT the only one who knows, is you. You and God, no one else knows. Well, your action can portray the decision you made BUT if we really given our heart to God our eyes should fix on Him

You don’t view things that should not view

You don’t act things that should not do

You don’t say things that should not say

The more, You don’t feel things things that should not feel

You don’t feel bad if people don’t appreciate you, people don’t give attention to you or people blame you.

If our heart is with God.

We are reminded that whatever we do, whether in this  tithing or giving, or whether its just standing here or sitting here. We do all these things with all our heart not for men, but for the Lord.

Take ownership!

If our heart is in tuned with God, in all our ways, we will acknowledge Him.

Prayer:

Let’s pray, Lord tonight, as we decided to give our heart to you and as we decided to give our resources, I pray that we will not do it out of regret or under pressure. We will do it because we love you cheerfully. Thank you for your son Jesus, your greatest gift to mankind. I declare you ignite tonight the heart of generous people that they will act upon it and be blessing to church to people and to the people that doesn’t know you yet. This all we pray, in the mighty name of Jesus. Amen.

Perfect Stuffs this Year!

This was one of my sharing during worship through giving. I forgot when was this but I think the message is still timely:

Verse:

Psalm 119:96
To all perfection I see a limit, but your commands are boundless.

This verse was written by the psalmist, King David. He said “To all perfection I see a limit..” Perfection! Have you seen perfection? Do not look too far just look at the person next to you or the gadget you’re holding now. Nevertheless, the psalmist said that everything has an end no matter how perfect it is for us. Whether perfect career, perfect, house, perfect vacation, perfect phone or gadgets – as they all relate to human and come from human, they shall come to an end. BUT it says in the scripture that God’s commandment is exceedingly broad that it’s actually infinite. Where the more you know the law the more its wisdom draws you closer to the lawgiver, which is God.
The truth about the psalmist kind David wrote: True fulfillment and the possibility of boundless enjoyment comes when we do life God’s way. What is God telling you about your money and resources? Are you using it to extend His kingdom or are you using it your own way. The scripture says that you cannot serve two masters at the same time. The moment we do things our way, we only enslave ourselves.

Why I give?

“Again, the kingdom of heaven is like unto a merchant man, seeking goodly pearls: Who, when he had found one pearl of great price, went and sold all that he had, and bought it.” ~Matthew 13:45-46

On this passage, Jesus giving a parable about the kingdom of heaven where he compared it into a merchant in search of fine pearls. Jesus uses parable such as pearl or treasure because it talks about the concept of value. Value is about the “heart”, as Jesus said, (Matt 6:21) “For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also.” What we value or treasure foretell the true condition of our hearts. Maybe right now we are giving the best effort, time, energy and resources to be the best in the class, to succeed in career, to be wealthy or to seek for “the one”; “the one” that can satisfy our hunger and soul. There is nothing wrong about endeavors, however, scripture says (Luke 16:15) “God knows your heart, for what men highly value is detestable in the sight of God” (detestable, means it’s highly dislike by God). The question is… Can we compare ourselves as the merchant in search of fine pearls? (Romans 3: 11) Unfortunately, scripture says “there is none that seeketh after God.”
Good news is… Jesus see us like the most precious pearl. Scripture did not use diamond or rubies but pearl, because pearl is the only gem that is a product of a living matter. We are not just compared to a fine pearl but a one pearl of great value. In the parable, when the merchant found one pearl of great price, he went and sold all that he had. Like what our Father in heaven did. We are so precious in his sight that even golds and mansions of heaven cannot compare to our value that it took the Heavenly Father to send his only begotten son to redeemed us.

“For God so loved the world, that He gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.” ~John 3:16

(Acts 20:28) Scripture says, Jesus bought the “church” (believers of Christ) with His own blood. That’s how precious we are to God. We are so important enough to justify the death of God’s precious son, Jesus.
(Romans 5:8) “But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.”
With this great love of God, I want us to be reminded of a simple Sunday school song that teaches us why we give. The song lyrics goes like this,
♪  “I’m giving… I’m giving… because I love Jesus… I’m giving… I’m giving… because I love Him”.  ♫
Why I love him, because he first loved us (1 John 14:19). Just like Jesus, the biggest benefit of giving has not been simply that our needs have been met; the main essence is the first hand knowledge that the God of heaven personally knows and cares for us. When I knew Christ I begin to value the church and even the unchurch people. Thus, having a change of perspective of how God value me.
Prayer: Heavenly Father, I come to you right now, I acknowledge your presence, and I acknowledge your great love. Thank you for loving us Jesus. You loved us before we knew you. I gave my trust to you as our great provider, our Jehovah Jireh. You are our bread of life and whoever comes to you will never go hungry, and whoever believes in you will never be thirsty. Lord, by this time, as we give, whether it’s our resources, our time, our energy, or commitment. I pray Lord that we will not see it as duty but we will see it us a delight. That we will give cheerfully and that the Holy Spirit will remind us and lead us of your will. I pray Lord that your compassion will enable us to honor you more in our life and so we can love selflessly with our neighbors. Lastly, I declare your blessings to the readers, hearers and doers of your words. I ask and pray, in the sweetest name of Jesus. Amen.

“But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.” ~Matthew 6:33

Over 400 people have been killed in Syria

Good morning readers. I really don’t have plan to continue blogging yet as I am occupied with the ministry and work priorities. However, I felt like, I would like to encourage more people to pray for the nation of Syria. This morning, while I’m reading the continuation of my devotion via ReadScripture app, I really want to throw-up badly 🤢

Since yesterday, I have seen many posts of 400 people were killed in Syria last 7 days ago. Though today, I have read a different story. Story from the past, about the king of Syria Benhadad, who attempted to invade Israel and lays siege to Samaria (capital of north kingdom israel) which cause great famine to this place to the point that they eat their own children to survive. So disturbing.

2 Kings 6:28-29
And the king asked her, “What is your trouble?” She answered, “This woman said to me, ‘Give your son, that we may eat him today, and we will eat my son tomorrow.’ 29 So we boiled my son and ate him. And on the next day I said to her, ‘Give your son, that we may eat him.’ But she has hidden her son.”

I felt like God is telling me that hopelessness is very deadly in the point that it may consume/destroy my future today. That I should be more careful in making decisions. That I should not settle for temporary happiness in the cost of my money, health, time, relationship, reputation and future that will eventually haunt me for the rest of my life.

As hope nor hopelessness is contagious, let’s always put our hopes high with the Lord. Like in the movie, Hunger Games’ quote: “Hope is the only thing stronger than fear”. 1 Peter 1:13 “..set your hope fully on the grace that will brought to you at the revelation of Jesus Christ.”

Should you came across in this blog, I urge you to pray for hope and healing to the people of Syria.

“If my people who are called by my name humble themselves, and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and heal their land.” 2 Chronicles 7:14

God bless! And stay hopeful! 🌞
